    Airstrike on Iraqi military clinic in Anbar kills seven troops

    Iraq's Defense Ministry said an airstrike followed by aircraft cannon fire hit the Habbaniyah military clinic in Anbar province, killing seven service members and wounding 13; it did not name the attacker. An Iraqi police source told Al Jazeera the strike targeted positions of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered the U.S. charge d'affaires summoned and a complaint filed with the UN Security Council.

    Hegseth promises largest U.S. strike package yet as Pentagon seeks $200 billion more

    Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Thursday's strikes would be the largest package of the war, with more than 7,000 targets hit so far, and said all 11 of Iran's small submarines were gone; Gen. Dan Caine said U.S. jets were striking deeper into Iran and had hit more than 90 targets on Kharg Island. A senior administration official told AP the Pentagon had asked the White House for $200 billion in additional war funding.

    Trump says Israel will stop hitting South Pars, threatens to destroy it if Iran hits Qatar

    In a Truth Social post Wednesday night, Trump said Israel would make no more attacks on Iran's South Pars gas field but that if Iran attacked Qatar again the United States would "massively blow up the entirety" of the field. He said the U.S. "knew nothing" about Israel's strike, although a person familiar with the matter told AP Washington had been informed of the plan.

    Israel kills Iran security chief Ali Larijani and Basij commander in Tehran strikes

    Israel said overnight strikes killed Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, and Gen. Gholamreza Soleimani, head of the Revolutionary Guards' Basij force, whom it said was hit in a tent used as a makeshift headquarters. Iran's Supreme National Security Council later confirmed Larijani was killed along with his son Morteza, his office chief and several guards.

    Drone hits Baghdad's Rasheed Hotel as Kataib Hezbollah says security chief killed

    Two Iraqi security officials said a drone struck the top floor of the Rasheed Hotel in the Green Zone, which houses diplomatic delegations and international organizations, causing damage but no casualties. Earlier Monday the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah announced the death of senior security official Abu Ali al-Askari, and strikes killed eight Popular Mobilization Forces fighters in Anbar.
