CENTCOM said it hit more than 80 targets, including air defences, command networks, coastal radar and anti-ship missile sites and more than 60 IRGC small boats, in response to the attacks on three tankers; explosions were reported at Sirik, Bandar Abbas and Qeshm. The IRGC said it answered with missiles and drones at 85 sites at the Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain and Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait, where air defences engaged.

Why it matters

It was the largest U.S. strike on Iran since the April truce and came during Ali Khamenei's funeral, which Trump had said both sides would respect.
