UKMTO earlier reported a security incident 16 nautical miles northeast of Khasab with the crew safe; it was unclear if it was the same ship.

The governor of Iran's Sirik county said a 150-ton locally owned cargo barge carrying essential goods from the Omani port of Khasab was hit by a U.S. projectile about 5 nautical miles off Khasab, and that all five crew were rescued by passing vessels and taken to Oman.
