President Trump told Axios he has to be involved in appointing Iran's next supreme leader, "like with Delcy [Rodriguez] in Venezuela," and called Mojtaba Khamenei, the late leader's son and the most likely successor, "a lightweight" and "unacceptable to me."
The Senate voted 47-53 against a war powers resolution that would have required congressional approval before further attacks on Iran. Republican Sen. Rand Paul voted for it and Democratic Sen. John Fetterman voted against.
Israeli military spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said the air force destroyed a partly underground site in Tehran, which Israel calls Minzadehei, where it says scientists secretly developed knowledge for nuclear weapons.
