    U.S. officials say both sides will stand down and meet in Doha; Iran denies any meeting

    A U.S. official told Reuters that Washington and Tehran had agreed to halt hostilities, with vessels free to move and technical talks to continue in Doha, and Trump later posted that 'Iran has requested a meeting' there. Iran's foreign ministry said no meetings with the U.S. were planned at any level, and Qatar said U.S. envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were in Doha but would not meet Iranian officials, adding that $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds had not been transferred.

    U.S. hits 10 Iranian targets in a second night; Iran fires at U.S. forces in Kuwait, Bahrain

    CENTCOM said Navy and Air Force jets struck 10 Iranian military targets in and near the Strait of Hormuz, including surveillance, communications, air defence, drone storage and minelaying capabilities, in response to the Kiku attack. The IRGC said it fired ballistic missiles and drones at Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet at Bahrain's Port Salman after U.S. strikes on five coastal sites; a U.S. official said there were no American casualties.

    Bahrain says Iranian drones attacked it after the first U.S. strikes under the deal

    Bahrain's foreign ministry condemned Iranian drone attacks on its territory in the early hours as a 'serious violation' of sovereignty that endangered civilians, and Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait and the GCC condemned them. Iran's foreign ministry said its military had struck targets linked to U.S. forces in response to U.S. strikes on its southern coast.

    Israel and Lebanon sign U.S.-brokered framework tying withdrawal to Hezbollah disarmament

    After a fifth round of talks at the State Department, Israel and Lebanon signed a framework under which Israel's military would 'progressively redeploy out of the Lebanese territory' once non-state groups such as Hezbollah are disarmed; Secretary of State Marco Rubio said it set 'a clear and structured process to restore Lebanon's sovereignty'. Hezbollah was not a party, and its MP Hassan Fadlallah rejected it.

    Drone hits container ship Ever Lovely off Oman, and the UN pauses Hormuz evacuations

    The Evergreen container ship Ever Lovely was hit on the starboard side of its bridge 3.6 nautical miles off Oman's Khawr Naiwah after passing through Hormuz; its crew was unharmed and it continued. IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez paused the UN plan to evacuate about 11,000 seafarers stranded in the Gulf, and Trump said the next day that Iran had launched four drones at ships, one of which hit.

    Oman opens an IMO-backed Hormuz transit corridor, and the IRGC warns ships off it

    Oman's Maritime Security Centre said it was providing a temporary transit corridor through the strait in coordination with the International Maritime Organization, in line with toll-free navigation, as a UN plan to evacuate about 11,000 stranded seafarers began. The IRGC Navy said only Iran-designated routes were authorised and that ships using the new lane would be in danger.
