Qatari negotiators travelled to Iran to shore up the memorandum, and Pakistan's prime minister spoke with President Pezeshkian, a day after Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed Hormuz with his Omani and Turkish counterparts. A U.S. official said Washington had held off on strikes on Thursday to give de-escalation a chance, while Iran's chief negotiator Ghalibaf said Iran would never surrender and was ready for 'all-out defense'.
