A joint statement from Pakistan and Qatar after a 12-hour session said the sides formed a high-level committee with working groups on the nuclear file, sanctions, and monitoring and dispute resolution, agreed a roadmap to a final deal within 60 days, a communication line to avoid incidents in the Strait of Hormuz, and a de-confliction cell with Lebanon to ensure military operations there end.

Why it matters

Neither Israel nor Hezbollah was part of the de-confliction cell meant to hold the Lebanon ceasefire, and the Hormuz communication line did not prevent the drone and missile exchanges that began three days later.
