U.S.-Iran talks open at Buergenstock; Iran quits four-way format after Trump threat

Vice President JD Vance and an Iranian delegation led by parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi began the first high-level round under the memorandum at the Buergenstock resort, with Pakistan's prime minister and Qatar's prime minister mediating. During the session Trump posted that Iran must stop 'their highly paid proxies in Lebanon from causing trouble' or 'we'll hit Iran very hard again', and Iran said its delegation then refused to continue four-way talks.
