A ceasefire brokered by the U.S. and France took effect at 4 AM local time, hours after President Biden announced it. Israel was to withdraw from southern Lebanon over 60 days as the Lebanese army deployed, and Netanyahu said Israel kept freedom of action to enforce the deal.
