Hezbollah fires rockets at northern Israel to avenge Khamenei, joining the war

Hezbollah claimed its first attack on Israel since the November 2024 ceasefire, saying it targeted an Israeli missile-defense site south of Haifa as revenge for Khamenei's killing and for repeated Israeli attacks. Israel's military said it intercepted one rocket and let others fall in open areas, with no injuries.
Why it matters
The attack reopened the Lebanon front the 2024 ceasefire had closed, drew Israeli strikes on Beirut within two hours and defied the Lebanese government's pledge not to be dragged into the war.
