U.S. launches eighth straight night of strikes to 'punish' IRGC over Jordan deaths

CENTCOM said U.S. forces began new strikes at 6 p.m. ET at Trump's direction to degrade Iran's ability to threaten shipping in Hormuz and to 'swiftly punish' the IRGC forces it blamed for killing U.S. troops in Jordan; it later said coastal surveillance, air defence, maritime and missile and drone storage sites were hit. Iranian media reported explosions at Qeshm, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Hajiabad and Shadegan.
