UAE and Iranian security officials meet face to face for the first time in the war

Senior national security officials from the UAE and Iran held their first face-to-face meeting since the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began, to try to de-escalate tensions, Bloomberg reported.
Why it matters
The UAE has been one of the Gulf states hit hardest by Iranian fire; the next day Reuters reported that Abu Dhabi had agreed to unlock billions in Iranian funds in return for a halt to attacks, which the UAE denied.
