Israel resumes strikes around Tyre after Iran's halt, killing five in a car strike

After a morning lull, Israeli jets struck the outskirts of Tyre and villages including Burj al-Shemali, Zrarieh, Kharayeb and Kfar Tibnit, and the army ordered residents of Tyre's Zoqaq al-Mafdi area to move north of the Zahrani River. The Health Ministry said a strike on a car in Tyre, in front of a Lebanese Red Cross centre, killed five people and wounded eight, four of them paramedics, and that a dawn strike on Zefta killed seven, including a Syrian child.

Why it matters

An Israeli official said Israel would stop attacking Iran but keep striking south Lebanon 'in full force', and a sweeping evacuation order for Tyre followed the next morning.
