IRGC says there will be no peace in the region until Israel withdraws from Lebanon

In a statement carried by Tasnim, the IRGC said its condition for accepting a ceasefire had been a ceasefire on all fronts including Lebanon, and that Israel must stop its attacks and withdraw behind the international border. Earlier the same day, Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani said the baseline demand was an Israeli withdrawal to pre-war positions.

Why it matters

Three days later Iran fired missiles at Israel after an Israeli strike on Beirut, acting on the link it had drawn between Lebanon and its ceasefire with the U.S.
