Greek-owned tanker set ablaze off Oman's Kumzar; crew abandons ship

A projectile set the Maltese-flagged tanker Kavomaleas, owned by Greece's Dynacom, on fire about 8 nautical miles northwest of Kumzar, Oman; its crew abandoned ship and was picked up by a tug, UKMTO said. A second vessel, the Acheloos, was hit 17 nautical miles east of Dibba with damage to its steering gear, and Iran's Revolutionary Guards said two tankers on the southern route had 'exploded' and been halted.
