Houthi fighters swept south from Mocha through Dhubab and Murad, the last coastal town in government hands, and advanced onto Perim (Mayyun) Island at the mouth of the Bab al-Mandeb, Reuters reported citing four government sources. A government military official said 'everything that was under our control on the western coast has fallen.'

With Iran closing Hormuz, Iran-aligned forces now sit on both of the Arabian Peninsula's main oil chokepoints, including the route Saudi Arabia has used to keep exporting.
