Pentagon says soldier missing after Jordan base strike is believed dead; U.S. toll 18

The Defense Department said Army Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York, missing since Iran's July 17 missile strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, is believed to have been killed. She is the third soldier believed killed in that attack; counting a soldier who died in Iraq while disposing of an Iranian drone, 18 U.S. service members are believed to have died in the war.
