UKMTO reported an engine-room fire on a Palau-flagged tanker about 20 nautical miles northeast of Oman's Sohar, and CENTCOM later said a U.S. aircraft fired precision munitions into the engine room of the M/T Settebello, which it said was carrying Iranian oil and had repeatedly ignored U.S. directions, the eighth ship disabled under the blockade. India said 21 of its sailors were rescued and three were missing, and summoned a senior U.S. diplomat; the IMO secretary-general condemned any act endangering seafarers.
