Brent crude fell $3.40, or 3.6 percent, to $90.85 a barrel at 14:28 GMT and U.S. WTI fell 4.1 percent to $87.59, putting Brent on course for its lowest close since April 17, after Trump said a deal with Iran was in its 'final throes'. AFP reported later in the day that oil had fallen below $90 a barrel.

Why it matters

The drop came hours before the Apache dispute and U.S. strikes on Iran, and Brent was back above $92 in Asian trading the next morning.
