Iran warns ships to use its Hormuz routes or face a 'forceful response'

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military command said any failure to comply with Iran's navigation protocols or deviation from its designated routes through the Strait of Hormuz 'will be met with an immediate and forceful response', after Iranian state TV said a ship ran aground using a route Iran had not approved.
Why it matters
Ships were still using Oman's alternative corridor, and five days later Iranian media said a tanker was attacked for trying the U.S.-backed route.
