U.S. strikes Iran a third time over a tanker attack

CENTCOM said U.S. forces struck about 90 Iranian military targets, the third round of strikes in days, after the IRGC blatantly attacked the M/V GFS Galaxy, a Cyprus-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, and declared the strait closed. Explosions were reported around Bushehr, Asaluyeh, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Sirik and Qeshm Island.

Why this matters. Each shipping incident now triggers a broad Iran-coast strike package, turning tanker security into an automatic escalation trip-wire that leaves little room between an attacked ship and a wider bombing campaign.
