Netanyahu lands in Washington as Tehran restates its claim over the waterway

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in the United States for talks that Trump characterised as friendly, while Tehran publicly restated that it intends to retain control over passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Why this matters. The Israeli track and the Hormuz track have been running separately since the memorandum, and a Washington meeting risks folding them back together. Iran's claim over the strait is the one point no draft has yet resolved.
