Iran declares the strait closed again days after signing

Iran said the Strait of Hormuz was closed once more, citing continued Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon as a violation of the ceasefire underpinning the June 17 memorandum. The U.S. military disputed that characterisation.

Why this matters. It was the first public sign that the memorandum had not settled who controls the waterway, three days after it was signed.
